I can’t believe this!!!!!

grandchild in your arms
Shivani is now two months old. Yep entire two months have gone by and I didn’t even realize it.  Time just flew by and I barely paused to record our experiences.

I was home for the first 10 days, when most of the time was spent settling in, and watching her eat, sleep and poop every now and then. 11th day was her Balasare. (Balasare is the Hindu naming ceremony). The day after I went back to work (which lately had been grueling).

Every evening when I come home I hear the fascinating tales of Shivani’s new exploits. Some nights when she is awake and in relatively good mood she would play with me for a few minutes - well! more like stare at my face for a few, smile and then try to look out of the window, cry and run to her ma grrrrrr

Every morning and evening for last two months my mum would give her either a oil massage or bathe her. Yesterday my mum and dad flew back to India after spending 7 months away from home (longest ever in their lives.) Dad, who has been lately complaining of resurgence of his back-pain, has been sad for several days. I guess he and mum got themselves emotionally attached to Shivani and have been struggling to come to terms with separation from their lil princess. I feel their pain. This lil child of mine is quite something…. being a father has made me emotional several times – I can’t even begin to imagine what it must be to see your grandchild in your arms knowing you have limited time on hand with her……Senti !!???.. Like I said – — I can’t believe I could get this senti… Chinta nahi.. aadat ho jayegi…

Anywhoo… couple of days ago Annapurna got Shivani a new friend. Her name Moo-Moo. Moo-Moo is Shivani’s first stuffed toy (a brown bear). For an extra $8 they were selling a recording device, where you could record whatever you like and stuff it into the toy. When you squeeze Moo-Moo’s arms your recording will play back. Guess what did Annapurna do? She recorded in her own voice the lullaby that she sings to Shivani every night reminding her how special she is for us. Ever since Shivani is born Annapurna has been shouldering disproportionately large share of raising our lil princess. Sleepless nights, round the clock feeding and worrying over everything and nothing, shopping and ….. you name it. She is the really super special.

So here is me and my lil baby’s turn to say-  I Love you to my Babe.

And to grandpa and grandma – see ya really soon.
